The first thing to remember is that all hypnosis is self hypnosis, if you do not want to be hypnotised you will not go into the trance state that defines hypnosis. I as a hypnotherapist simply guide you to a state of delightful comfort and relaxation. At all times during the process you are fully in control, you do not loose consciousness nor are you asleep.
The best, and easiest to understand way I have found of describing this beautiful, ancient and entirely natural condition is to liken it to a state we all find ourselves in each and every day of our lives. Think back to this morning when you first woke up, or last night just before sleep took over the feeling of not quite being either awake or asleep is the trance state induced by hypnosis. In this condition your sub conscious mind is at its most receptive to suggestions that will most benefit you i.e. As the days and weeks and months go by you find yourself happier, healthier , more confident, more relaxed.
